October Weekend Outfit

This is my favorite time of the year here in the south. Cold mornings, nice crisp afternoons, and then cooler again in the evening. Since the weather fluctuates throughout the day, it's important to wear an outfit with layers. Big chunky sweaters are great, aren't they? I sure love this gray and green one shown below! It's super warm, so you will want to be sure to pair it with a super cute top underneath.

 And, who says Hunter boots are only for rainy days? I think they look cute everyday. J. Crew jewelry is amazing! This little necklace adds the perfect pop of green for your outfit.  Do you own a pair of J. Crew jeans? I've tried lots and lots of different brands, and I'm telling you these are my favorite. I love them for several reasons. Maybe that will be my next post, but most importantly, they won't bag out on you after a couple of hours of wear. I rarely wear a belt with mine unless it's for accent purposes. Dresses with Booties

Can you wear any shoe you desire in your size? If you can, I consider you lucky. Not sure what happened, but after I had kids somehow my feet seemed to widen even more than they already were. I can't buy shoes online for fear that they will be too narrow once I put them on my feet. I say all of this because I love J. Crew's shoes! All of them! Their boots, flats, heels, loafers, and any other shoe that they come out with for the season. Sometimes, I can do their flats and boots; but the heels...never! They are always too narrow. So, I'm really excited about all of the outfits I'm seeing with boots and booties this fall season. Here's one I put together. What do you think?

The Main Thing To Wear Everyday!

I love Sundays. Going to church and being with my friends learning and growing more in my spiritual life. It's so rejuvenating and encouraging! How about you? Do you have a church that you are a part of? Do you know Jesus as your Savior? More than anything that we can put on our outside bodies, we can put on God's armor of protection if He is our Lord. I can't tell you how much joy and peace having a relationship with Jesus brings.

Recently, I attended a conference of well-known speaker and author Priscilla Shirer. Her book, Fervent,  addresses the need to have on God's armor. She writes in her book, "Because unless our whole ensemble (our clothing) is framed around this undergarment (Truth about who God says that we are) we're not really suited for daily spiritual battle." Awesome reminder to me!

So, before you put on your cute outfit this week, spend time in God's Word and dress yourself to be ready for whatever life may throw at you. I promise a life with Jesus is so worth it! Blessings to you this week!

Happy Fall Ya'll! Don't Forget Your Puffer Vest!

One thing in fashion that I am glad is STILL trending is the good 'ole puffer vest. If you don't believe me, search Pinterest! They are everywhere, especially if you are searching for J. Crew styles. I think that they are super cute, but what I love about them is that they can hide a little extra tummy if you need it for that too (which unfortunately, I do).They are pretty much in the "MUST HAVE" accessory category nowadays aren't they? 

Put together any casual J. Crew look, and in my opinion you will look fantastic, BUT throw on either of these vests and you look like you have some serious fashion sense! I'm a simple girl when it comes to fad styles, but even I can't help but jump on what seems to be the never ending "Puffer Vest bandwagon".  (Please don't throw me off just yet, I only recently got on!)

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday to you! It's raining still here in North Carolina. I believe this is the longest stint of rain that I can remember....12 days! Still I love this time of year. One of my favorite things is pumpkin ANYTHING! Today it's pumpkin flavored coffee from Dunkin' Donuts. I suggest asking for just one pump of pumpkin flavoring. It's super sweet!! My order is: medium coffee with cream, no sugar, and one pump of pumpkin flavoring. It's awesome!!

How is your wardrobe for fall coming? I've got more items to add to my store. So be sure to check it out!! Here's a few of my favorites that I've put together for you to see. These heels are incredible and versatile. Some day, I'll learn to walk in them. Until then, I would love for you to have them in YOUR closet. This cashmere sweater from J. Crew is phenomenal! It's super light and soft unlike some cashmere I've worn in the past.

Like I said, I'd keep them if I could walk in heels. 

If I'm going to wear a dress, I want it to be comfortable like this one! It's knit cotton with
one of those really pretty gold zippers in the back. I think the heels look cute with this dress.  A sweater
is always necessary for me, and I think this gray cashmere is a perfect addition. 

Make sure you have a great black skirt in your closet. This one hits just above the knee,
and I love it because it's A-Line. My hips need a little room to breathe. 

What Should I Wear Today?

I love jewelry. But here 's something unique about me. Not long ago, you wouldn't catch me wearing anything but stud earrings. There was something about large earrings that made me feel like my face was way too chubby (have you ever heard of carb face?). Someone gave me a pair of white oval dangly earrings, and they changed my life. I still don't wear just any earrings. My taste is still super picky...but I like to think my thirty-four year old self is branching out! 

 I think any outfit looks better paired with a great necklace. You can take your jeans, a t-shirt, any shoes you'd like and throw on a statement necklace (like the one below)... and somehow it transforms you to look like you know what you are doing when it comes to fashion! I've learned this recently. It seems compliments come my way more often when I have the jewelry to go along.  What do you think of this necklace? See how these outfits all look better with jewelry!
