Summer Sandals are Here!!

Summer hit hard here in NC! We went from beautiful 70 degree days to high 80s. Oh well. I guess we better get our toes painted and start shoe shopping. Am I right?? I have just the shoes for you. I'm Back!!

So, I have been totally busy the last few months. Lots and lots of changes including a move to a new city (actually my hometown). My husband has decided to quit his job and help us expand our business. The good news....drum roll please....WE are going to have even more items in our store. You will want to check it out! Sweater Weather

As Christmas is getting closer, it's starting to cool down quite a bit here in North Carolina. One of my favorite things about this season is SWEATERS! I just love them. Wear them alone or layer with undershirts, scarfs, and some pretty jewelry. Here are two different shoes that I thought look really cute with this outfit. First, I have a pair of patent leather wedges in a burgundy color. Second, I have a purple suede pair of flats. Both make the skirt pop! Which do you like best?

Ok, I have a new show that I've found on Hulu. Have you seen The Mindy Project? Hilarious!! It's my wind down show that I watch once my kids are in bed. It literally has me laughing out loud. Mindy has the cutest clothes! She's always wearing funky prints and mixing and matching. Here's my Mindy inspired outfit:

How do you feel about turtlenecks? Do you like them? I do. This one in particular caught my eye. I love red and navy. Plus it has these cute elbow patches. Here, I've paired them with these navy wool pants (J. Crew wool is never itchy). I love the white trim on the sides. When you wear a turtleneck, either choose a long necklace or forgo the necklace altogether. Short necklaces with turtlenecks look a little grannyish to me. Bracelets and rings are a better choice. And these shoes are practically like a piece of jewelry too!

Plaid is something that everyone seems to be wearing this season. Here's a lambs wool sweater in blue and navy. If you are having a cold November, you'll like this sweater to keep you plenty warm!

Sometimes I get hot wearing a sweater, so I'll wear short sleeves like this with a heavy scarf. It's like wearing a sweater...but not. And these boots, are great for every outfit.

Flower Power for Fall 2015

Do you like floral prints? To tell you the truth, they are not my favorites. But, that's because when I think of floral, I think pastel and Easter. That's not what is in right now. You want to have some darker colors in your patterns to make you look on trend. The look below is one that I like because the floral print is on the bottom. 

When I clean out my closet from time to time, the first things I usually get tired of wearing are my printed shirts. So, something like this could totally work for me. I've paired the pants with a chunky J. Crew navy open cardigan sweater, a long sleeve cranberry striped t-shirt, cranberry colored heels, and a navy statement necklace. Mixing patterns is so much fun!

Here's another look that will work for Fall 2015. This dress is a light purple color, but it also has some black, dark blue, and dark purple in it making it a perfect piece for your fall wardrobe. The blazer is a chambray color but almost looks gray. I like that about it. This chain link purple necklace goes too because it brings out the dark purple from the dress. Lastly, I added these patent leather gray heels.

This last one, is really my favorite! I love chunky turtleneck sweaters. And according to J. Crew, I am  super stylish this season in these. Yay! These pants are great. They're J. Crew Collection, so a little pricier if you buy directly from J. Crew. I love the colors and the fact that they are lightweight and super comfortable. A pair of chunky Madewell black leather shoes bring this outfit together. Lastly, a a classy pair of statement earrings. This could be a great look for Thanksgiving too. You'll be able to breathe after you eat that big 'ole meal!

Black is Back!

Once upon a time, my mom told me that I wore way too much black. Mom, I hate to tell you, but monochromatic black is in! But, I do agree with her that there can be too much of it. So, I like to wear it with a little color to go along and break it up a bit. This is perfect for your work day.

For church, I  really do like this solid black shirt dress from Madewell.  It's so versatile. You can wear just about any shoes with it. I paired the same heels as with my previous outfit. When it's really cold, you could definitely wear your tall boots with this outfit.

As I think ahead to Thanksgiving, I know that I want to wear black on this day! Here's a look that I love. You may recognize this necklace. It seems to go with just about everything too. I may have to reconsider selling it. I just love it so much!!
